Anagama Kiln Project

The Anagama Kiln Project has been underway for over a year.

The shelter was completed in the Summer of 2008 and in August, Wayne began building the kiln structure.  In October, the kiln was officially complete. The kiln is located in scenic Oldham County, Kentucky and is adjacent to Brian Newton's pottery studio.

From Wayne:

"After 40 years of clay and kiln lifestyle I finally, at the age of 61, built a kiln of my own. It took about three months to construct.  It is a modified Anagama kiln inspired by kilns I have built and fired in the past.   My good friend, Ronald P. Knight, has a similar kiln in North Carolina that we have fired together several times."
